USING DRAMA TO DEVELOP STUDENT’S SPEAKING SKILLS TO THE SECOND GRADE STUDENTS OF ESCOLA TEKNICO PROFESIONAL OE – CUSSE

Abstract


This study is a Classroom Action Research which is aimed to find out the developing speaking  skill through the using drama to the second grade students of the Escola Tekniku profesional in Oe-cusse in the school year 2017. This objective of this research was conducted to answer the following questions (1) can drama develop the students English speaking skill?, (2) Are there any significant differences between before and after the implementation of using drama to develop speaking skill? Based on the result of conducting research, it shows that there were developing in students speaking skill after the implementation teaching English speaking by using drama. The  process  of  teaching  and  learning  English speaking using Drama method  was going  smoothly and the most of  the  students  were enthusiastic. This strategy of drama is not a challenge the students but it could be considered as one of the enjoyable activities for the students in teaching and learning process in the class. It could also bring positive effect for the teacher and students in the class to avoid the violence and create peace education atmosphere in the class because the students could evoke among others feeling to express their ideas without worrying and happy to interact with pairs spontaneously and simultaneously with the body language movement.
