USING FLASHCARD TO TEACH CONJUNCTION

Abstract


The objectives of the study were: (1) To describe the
implementation of flashcards in teaching conjunction. (2) To
find out whether students learn by using Flashcard in
conjunction. The subject of study is second-grade students
of Ensino Secondário Geral 20 de Setembro Metinaro, Dili –
Timor Leste, and 25 students were research subjects. The
method of this study is quantitative descriptions. The
quantitative description research method was used. In
collecting the data, the research used observation and tests.
The test consisted of 40 items of multiple choices. The result
of the investigation shows that there are some significant
differences between before and after the teaching-learning
process intervention. It can be seen in the mean scores of
both tests: the pre-test is 4.64 and the post-test is 8.84. The
mean score of the pre-test was lower than the mean score of
the post-test. The differences in mean scores of pre-test and
post-test were calculated with the formula of the t-test is 4,
85 ≥ (great than) t-table is 2,797 at the level significantexcellent with the degree of freedom is 25. The significant
differences in both tests indicate that flash card is
considered an innovative method that is effective in
teaching English, particularly English Conjunction.
