MANAGEMENT OF COMMUNITY READING PARK AS A LEARNING SOURCE

Abstract


The development of a reading culture is one of the government
programs that aim to develop a knowledgeable, skilled, advanced, and
independent society through reading, writing, arithmetic and literature
activities which are implemented through the Community Reading
Park (TBM) media. The number of Community Reading Parks (TBM)
currently managed by a group of people both independently and
under the guidance of the local government is fostered by city libraries,
especially in Malang City, but the awareness of the local community
about the presence of this Community Reading Park (TBM) is still very
minimal so that the utilization The Public Reading Park (TBM) is still
not optimal. The purpose of establishing several Community Reading
Parks (TBMs) around Malang City began to increase the culture of
fondness for reading in the surrounding community, especially for
children and adolescents, but over time, it is no longer limited to
increasing reading fondness for the surrounding community, the
presence of Taman Baca The community (TBM) currently functions to
improve the information literacy skills of the surrounding community,
not only for children and adolescents but for all levels of society.
